Most guest complaints are not really about your property.

They're about the gap between what someone expected and what they found. And nine times out of ten, that gap was created before they arrived.

Your listing, your confirmation message, your check-in instructions — all of it either sets expectations accurately or leaves room for disappointment.

Unhappy guests are usually a communication problem dressed as a review problem.

Cross-border hosting is my whole thing. I run properties in Canada 🇨🇦 and I've helped hosts set up in Mexico 🇲🇽, the US 🇺🇸, Australia 🇦🇺 and Bali 🇮🇩.

The mistake I see most: assuming the rules travel with you. They don't! Payment handling on Booking com works differently in Mexico than it does in Canada, and that's local legislation, not the platform being difficult.

If you're looking at a property in another country, save this before you sign anything.
