Thanks for spreading the word, Partners for Affordable Housing! We’re so excited for this project, sustaining important community housing in Centretown, and welcoming new residents with Matthew House Ottawa. It’s only through community working together that we can make this happen!

A model to keep housing affordable, forever Partners for Affordable Housing is working alongside the Ottawa Community Land Trust (OCLT) to help unlock the acquisition of 622 Cooper Street, a large home in Ottawa’s Centretown neighbourhood that will be preserved as permanently affordable housing. Some snapshots from our AGM last night! It’s beautiful to see so much of our community gathered in one space, mobilized to create impact together. The strength of our community, and the trust you place in the Ottawa Community Land Trust that makes our work possible, is truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who attended, and to our Board members and volunteers who brought the AGM to life! Together, our journey to making housing affordable to all in the National Capital Region continues… 🏡🫡

Come join us! The OCLT AGM takes place on Wednesday, May 6, beginning at 6pm (until 8:30). And you are all invited!

In 2025, we continued to lay the foundation for sustainability and growth. While we’ll reflect on the past year at this year’s AGM, we’ll also welcome a panel discussion, highlighting the partnerships that infuse two exciting acquisitions currently underway. Join us May 6 to hear from the owner of a 31-unit apartment building selling to the OCLT. We’ll also hear from Mark MacAulay, President and CEO of Ottawa Salus, from whom OCLT is working to acquire a Centretown home to preserve the building as community-owned (while supporting Ottawa Salus with the resources to grow its impact). And finally, we’ll hear from Kailee Brennan, ED at Matthew House Ottawa, to whom the OCLT intends to lease a property, ensuring a long-term, secure and affordable lease. Our work - enabled by community - is focused on preserving and expanding Ottawa’s community-owned affordable housing - and we can’t wait to share more with you!

Come to meet your neighbours - and enjoy conversation and light bites! We’ll be gathering at Impact Hub Ottawa (123 Slater Street, 6th floor). To assist us in plans, please take a moment to register at the link in our bio.

We can’t wait to see you at the Winter Market this Sunday, February 15, from 10am-3pm. While you shop for all things local, why not stop by the / table and talk about local affordable housing (and local investment through Housing Forever Bonds). Big thanks to Market organizers for hosting us (we loved our visit earlier in January, too!).

While today’s snowstorm compelled us to go virtual, Board Directors gathered to reflect on ‘what we heard’ through Fall community engagement, and further prioritize in building out our next Strategic Plan. The OCLT continues to learn and grow! We’re so grateful for the community’s support - and to be working with - and excited for opportunities that lie ahead. Watch for our next Strategic Plan to be released this Spring! ❄️ 🏡

We're live! The 2025 Housing Forever Bonds are now available! We were thrilled to join our campaign collaborators, , and to be joined by a full house this morning at , for the campaign launch. Housing Forever Bonds are a community bond offering that enable individuals, organizations and businesses to invest in affordable housing solutions right here in Ottawa - "raising capital, in the capital, for the capital." Investors earn a financial return while supporting a stronger community where our neighbours are well housed.

This morning, we witnessed this community's generosity and interest in this strategy to leverage our community's wealth, for the community. We were warmly welcomed by Sonya Shorey (CEO, ), and heard from Mayor about the power of "investing local." Both Michelle Hurtubise, from and Kelly Mertl, from , shared how previous investments in Housing Forever Bonds both supported their organizational mandates (improving community health and well-being), while keeping local wealth right here in Ottawa. Sue Lott shared their excitement at being one of the first 2025 investors. We heard from a tenant in housing that was recently preserved through an Ottawa Community Land Trust acquisition - enabling a focus on family and career, knowing his housing is secure. And Board Chairs Liz Allan and closed out the event, challenging us all to take these ideas and turn them into actions.

Raising $25 million across two organizations is an ambitious goal. Can we do it? Absolutely, with this community. Would you like to help us make it happen? Check out www.housingforeverbonds.ca

And listen to CBC Ottawa Morning on Thursday, September 18 at around 7:40 AM. We can't wait to share more!
