Home sales remain low but recovering slowly, says BCREA
As someone who’s spent over 16 years helping families navigate the Port Alberni real estate market, I always keep an eye on the broader trends shaping British Columbia. Recently, the BCREA reported that residential home sales across BC dipped 4.8% in August, totaling $5.2 billion. The average price saw a slight 1% decrease to $924,826. Sales volume was also down by 5.5%, with 46,069 homes changing hands, and in Greater Vancouver, both prices (down 1.3%) and sales (down 3.6%) softened. Even as the market remains quieter than we’ve seen in previous years, there are signs of slow recovery. For those weighing a move or a sale, understanding these shifts is key to making confident decisions.
