I just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you to all of you. It has truly been an honour and a privilege to serve as Chair of - Latin Southwest NB for the past two years. Before that, I was also a volunteer with the organization, so altogether, this journey has been about four amazing years for me.

During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, create meaningful friendships, and learn things I never imagined I was capable of, especially organizing large community events for the Latin community here in Southern New Brunswick.

Together, we organized events such as our Spring Potluck, our Welcome to Saint John Potluck every August, Latin American Heritage Month celebrations in October, and our Christmas Potluck, which has always been one of my favorite events. Christmas is such an important part of Latin American culture, and being able to come together here in Canada through our music, food, traditions, and community has meant so much to me.

We also continued our monthly dance nights at the French school, as well as programs like our children’s reading activities, all aimed at bringing people together and helping our community grow stronger.

What makes me happiest is knowing that through these events, many people created friendships, connections, and support systems. That was always one of our biggest goals as an organization, to help people feel welcomed, connected, and proud of their culture while building a home here in New Brunswick.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who attended our events over the last few years. Your support meant thep world to us. And an especially heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who gave their time, energy, ideas, and dedication to help grow and strengthen our Latin community here in Southern New Brunswick.

Thank you all so much. It has truly been an honour.
