A big improvement on this attic.

The soffits were being blocked by loose-fill insulation, so we installed baffles throughout the eaves and added batt insulation to keep the ventilation path open. Once everything was in place, we topped up the attic with blown-in fiberglass insulation to bring it up to R-50.

Adding insulation is only part of the job. Making sure the attic can still breathe is just as important for preventing moisture problems and helping the insulation perform the way it's supposed to.

Yesterday’s attic insulation job.

One of the most common things we see in attics around St. John’s and the Avalon Peninsula is insulation that simply isn’t deep enough for the standard in Newfoundland.

Another attic insulation upgrade completed in Bonavista this week.

We’re based in St. John’s, but we made the trip out to Bonavista to help a homeowner bring their attic insulation up to modern standards.

The attic was sitting below recommended levels, so we installed blown-in insulation to R-55 to help keep more heat inside the home and improve comfort.
