Today at the Taste of Summer fundraiser, I was helping supervise the inflatable slides when a young girl, about 9 years old, came up to me and handed me $60 she had found on the grounds.

She could have easily kept walking, but instead she chose to do the right thing and turn it in.

I told her I would try to find the owner and, if I couldn't, the money would be donated to the hospital fundraiser. Thankfully, the owner was found. When he came to claim it and thanked me, I explained that I didn't deserve the credit. It was this young girl who had turned it in.

He was so grateful that he wanted to thank her personally and even reward her for her honesty. We spent quite a while looking around the event trying to find her and her dad, but unfortunately we couldn't locate them.

So I'm posting this in the hope that someone knows who she is.

Young lady, if you happen to see this, please know that your honesty did not go unnoticed. You impressed everyone involved, and the owner was incredibly thankful to have his money returned. In a world where people often hear about the negative things, you reminded us that there are still some pretty amazing young people out there.

And to your dad: you're clearly doing something right.

Thank you for setting such a wonderful example today.
