When you’re inspecting a basement and find a car scissor jack sitting on top of a wooden post, being used to support a main-floor beam. 😳

Creative? Definitely.
Proper permanent structural support? No.

A vehicle jack is designed for temporary lifting of a vehicle — it is not designed, rated, or installed as a permanent building support.

Structural beams should be supported by properly sized, adequately bearing posts or other approved structural supports, with the load transferred safely to an appropriate foundation or footing.

When it comes to supporting your house, a car jack isn't the solution.
