An incredibly resilient Community Relief Fund recipient who survived the Tumbler Ridge tragedy recently celebrated a major milestone with her family in Vancouver.

Maya Gebala, who received rental support funding so she could keep accessing medical treatment in the city, enjoyed her 13th birthday by bowling, playing air hockey, and attending a Foo Fighters concert at B.C. Place.

We’re so grateful we could support Maya and wish her strength, hope and positivity as she continues her recovery. Stories like hers remind us of the difference the fund can make for people experiencing housing hardship and other adversities.

September’s sales decline wasn’t felt evenly across the market.

Home sales in Metro Vancouver were down 8.4% year-over-year in September, with much of that weakness coming from the apartment segment. Meanwhile, sales of attached and detached homes edged up from last September.

Declining inventory levels and slow, steady sales should provide modest support to home prices for the rest of the year, according to our H2 Residential Market Forecast Report.

Compared to 2025, average prices for all home types are expected to decline by just 0.7 to 1.4 per cent through year’s end.
