The hardest part of renovating is remembering that beautiful spaces begin long before they actually look beautiful.😉

The less glamorous work is happening—the sytems are getting upgraded and slowly but surely, this 1978 house is becoming the home we envisioned.🏡

A debt of gratitude to Barnaby Ryan and JaxsonÂŽ from 1Click Energy Solutions for their tireless efforts installing our heat pump on such challenging terrain! Our home is now comfortable and temperate thanks to you!

Renovations have a way of testing your patience, but I’ve gained a whole new appreciation for how many moving parts are involved…especially when you’re living through it!

A delayed vanity, custom cabinetry, or a backordered fixture can affect the schedule in ways that have nothing to do with the people on site. It’s a good reminder that “slow” doesn’t necessarily mean “stalled.”

We’re definitely ready for the finish line—but until then, we’ll keep celebrating the wins as they come. 🏡✨

The renovation is officially past the halfway mark.

The two upstairs bathrooms are in the homestretch—though we’re still waiting on the vanities, which have decided to arrive on their own schedule. 🙄

Meanwhile, the final bathroom downstairs is underway, complete with custom cabinetry designed specifically for the shared laundry area.

It’s exciting to see each space taking shape, one room at a time.

Sixteen years, two moving trucks, one ferry crossing, and more emotions than I expected.

Saying goodbye to a home is filled with mixed emotions. You’re ready to leave, excited for what’s next, and still a little surprised by how it feels when the rooms are finally empty.

Treasuring the ‘old’ but looking forward to the ‘new’.

Renovations have a funny middle stage, that doesn’t include the excitement of demo or the beauty of the finished reveal.

Just dust, mud, and a thousand decisions.

Every finish, colour, and detail is considered long before the final reveal. A lot of thought goes into creating spaces that feel effortless in the end.

We’re talking stripped walls, exposed plumbing, dust everywhere—the glamorous part of renovating! A little dust, a lot of decisions, and the beginning of a whole new chapter for this house. ✨

Equal parts charm, quirks, and big decisions ahead. Some homes tell you exactly what they want to be—you just have to listen closely enough.😉

Some people inherit jewelry or recipes. I inherited a love of beautiful spaces.

Looking through these old family photos, I notice the undeniable style passed down through generations — the fashion, the interiors, the little details that made a house feel like home.

Long before I understood design, I was surrounded by women who instinctively knew how to create beauty around them.

Maybe that’s where all of this began.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who shape not only who we are, but how we live.❤️💐

I loved attending the Sherwin-Williams Colormix 2026 CEU at Muse & Merchant this morning, and hearing how colour trends continue to shape the way we live — and express ourselves at home. And the showroom… absolutely beautiful. Every vignette felt layered, soulful, and full of personality (which, as you know, I’m a big fan of)!

Grateful to .kecki_dae, and for the invitation, fabulous presentation and inspiring gathering. Extended thanks to for your beautiful energy and the lovely headshot.

Learning, connecting, and being surrounded by beautiful interiors? My kind of morning. ☕️
