A morning well spent at BDAR in Barrie learning from award-winning speaker and communication coach Roger Caesar.

Strong communication is a huge part of commercial real estate, from presenting opportunities clearly to negotiating, building trust and creating stronger client relationships. Events like this are a great reminder that continuing to improve how we communicate directly improves how we serve our clients.

It was also great connecting with familiar faces, meeting new people and taking in a few lessons I can carry into my work every day.

Always learning, always growing, and always looking for ways to bring more value to the people I work with.

A lot of valuable insight came out of the CCIM Central Canada panel.

Despite economic and political uncertainty, the message for commercial real estate was clear: stay focused on the fundamentals.

From interest rates and the cost of capital to industrial, apartments, senior living and data centres, the opportunities are still there. The key is understanding where demand is moving and positioning yourself accordingly.

At Rotary today, we had the opportunity to tour the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport and learn more about the growth taking place there, including the runway expansion to 7,000 feet, major provincial investment in Ornge operations, and future employment and commercial development opportunities.

These are the kinds of changes that can shape where businesses choose to locate, where jobs are created, and how communities grow over time.
