RENO DIARIES PART 7 🏡🔨

A little progress update… but also a pretty accurate look at what life looks like behind the Reno Diaries right now 😅

Between real estate work, showings, possessions, organizing closing gifts and everything else that comes with the job, I’ve been running back and forth to the house trying to “help” wherever I can… which, if we’re being honest, hasn’t been much 😂

Meanwhile, Dylan managed to get the mudroom fully framed in while I mostly popped in to admire the progress and then ran back out the door again.

So naturally, I decided the man deserved a nice meal out after carrying the Reno Diaries on his back this week 😂🍝

A little chaotic, a lot happening, but it’s SO exciting watching this house change day by day. Reno Diaries Part 7!

I got tired of my own page feeling like one long advertisement.

I love real estate, and I genuinely love sharing helpful, informative content about buying, selling and the market. But I also wanted to create a space that didn’t feel like I was constantly promoting myself.

So I’m mixing things up a little.

There will still be lots of real estate, but also renovations, design, vintage finds, homeownership and real life in between.

Content that’s helpful when you need it, and hopefully just fun to follow when you don’t. 😊🏡🙌🏼

Reno Diaries: Progress Update 🛠️🏡

Things are officially looking a little less like a house and a lot more like a construction zone 😅

The kitchen walls are DOWN, the carpets are ripped out, and we’ve officially picked our cabinet colours!!

Next up, I’m putting myself to work painting the cabinets we’re repurposing for the laundry room and starting to tackle some of the interior walls. 🎨

Still a long way to go, but every day it feels a little more like ours.

Buying our own home this summer gave me a perspective I wasn’t expecting. 🏡🤍

I spend so much of my day helping people navigate the buying process. I know the steps, I know what happens behind the scenes, and I know how important communication and reassurance are along the way.

But being the one actually waiting on the financing, insurance, lawyers, paperwork and finally the keys gave me a whole new appreciation for what my clients are feeling on the other side.

It reminded me that even when everything is going exactly as it should, buying a home can still feel exciting, overwhelming, stressful and incredibly emotional all at once.

I don’t think buying our own home taught me how to be a better Realtor. Instead, it gave me a deeper understanding of why the things I already prioritize for my clients matter so much.

The updates. The check-ins. Explaining what happens next. Answering the little questions. And sometimes simply saying, “Nothing new yet, but I’m on it.”

I’ve always loved helping people find their way home, but I think I’ll carry a little more understanding with me every time I hand over the keys now. 🤍🔑
