A simple idea that’s easy to execute may not seem like a revelation at the time, but it can change everything. Taking the wall down in the entryway to create an open concept kitchen completely transformed this space. We now had the luxury to put in a substantial island and reimagining the cabinetry and pantry space actually allowed for more storage space and functionality not less. The simplest ideas are sometimes the ones with the biggest impact.

A primary bedroom should feel like a warm hug, a safe space where we can deeply relax and completely let go. The design options from there are vast. But I always gravitate towards a warm palette, textural elements, the grounding qualities of wood and a mix of ambient and accent lighting. With the warm accent wall, wood night stands, oversized woven bedside lamps and soft fabric head board this primary fits the brief.

Once again a bit behind with the socials. This condo we gut remodelled in 7 weeks and then was on Airbnb in March. By removing the entryway wall we created a great room space. Open concept with an oversized weighted island. And this piece by has really caught everyone who walks into the space’s attention 😏 stone, wood and glass and combined perfectly with our limestone cliffs and arid landscapes theme.

Finished this condo in December right before the holidays and she’s been renting like crazy on Airbnb. What’s the secret? For me, in both income properties that you plan to rent and flip, the key is creating a unique product. While hard to quantify, you really need to put the love and care into every every aspect of a project to make it a success. First, you have to be very sure and confident with the overall design aesthetic of the space. Each project has a unique personality, so think… what does this space have to say. What’s the identity, and make sure everything you select and place is a nod to that. You must design unique, eye catching built-ins that put function first. Each time we must be clever and creative with all our material selections. And finally we have to layer the finishes and decor in a way that feels effortlessly cohesive and intentional. It should feel like everything just flows and makes sense. But nothing is an accident.
