Before Nanku was built, this land already had a story.
The Chorotega people have lived in Guanacaste for centuries.
They shaped clay with their hands, collected it from the earth following the cycles of the moon, and passed their knowledge from grandmother to grandchild, generation after generation.
When you build a community on a piece of land, you have a responsibility to honor what came before you.
That is why we invite Junior Matarrita Leal, a Chorotega artisan, to bring his workshops to Nanku. Families and children sit with him, shape clay using ancestral techniques, and listen to the stories behind every symbol and design.
It is not a class. It is a living tradition shared between people.
Nanku is a family focused eco village in Nosara, Costa Rica, where culture, nature and community are part of everyday life.
