People always say that life moves fast, and before you know it, your child will be graduating from high school. It sounds cliché—until it happens to you.

This past Friday, that moment became my reality. My baby graduated, and soon he’ll be off to begin the next chapter of his life. I couldn’t be prouder of the young man he has become and all that he has accomplished. I am also incredibly grateful that he had the opportunity to be born and raised in Costa Rica, a country that gave him a unique perspective on life. Growing up bilingual and bicultural has allowed him to appreciate and embrace the best of two worlds.

To my amazing son: Kian-you have worked so hard and achieved so much already. As you step into this new adventure, I wish you happiness, success, and every opportunity life has to offer. Never stop believing in yourself and chasing your dreams.

The biggest mistakes I see?

This is what life looks like in Flamingo, early walks by the marina, quiet moments before the day begins, and a balance between business, family, and the lifestyle we work so hard to create.

Living here isn’t just about the views (although they don’t hurt 😉).

It’s about the rhythm… the pace… the ability to build a successful career and actually enjoy your life.

For me, this is what it’s all about:

Can foreigners buy property in Costa Rica? Yes, but the details matter. 🇨🇷

Foreign buyers can generally purchase titled property in Costa Rica with the same basic ownership rights as Costa Rican citizens. But before you make an offer, it’s so important to understand what you’re buying: titled property, concession land, corporation ownership, folio real, due diligence, zoning, access, and any red flags.

My biggest advice? Don’t skip the legal review. A good deal should always hold up under good due diligence.

Work with a trusted local agent and a qualified Costa Rican attorney before you move forward. The right team can help you protect your investment and feel confident every step of the way.

Make sure you ask the right questions before making an offer.
