Limber de Morir Soñando! 🍊

Some flavors just stay with you.

From the very first time I tried Morir Soñando here in the Dominican Republic, it instantly became one of my favorite drinks—and it still is today.

The name literally means "to die dreaming." Since I love anything extra creamy and sweet, I decided to put my own twist on this classic by adding sweetened condensed milk, turning it into a frozen Limber, and topping it with whipped cream.

Now, I know whipped cream definitely doesn't belong on a traditional limber... but I love it anyway!

It's creamy, icy, refreshing, and the perfect treat for a hot Caribbean afternoon.

What You'll Need

• 2 cups fresh orange juice, well chilled
• 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk, well chilled
• 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk (or more if you like it extra sweet)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

1. Chill Everything

This is the most important step. Make sure the orange juice and both milks are completely cold before mixing. If they're warm, the orange juice can cause the milk to curdle.

2. Mix

In a pitcher, whisk together the evaporated milk, condensed milk, and vanilla until smooth.

3. Add the Orange Juice

Slowly pour in the cold orange juice while stirring continuously until fully combined.

4. Freeze

Pour the mixture into plastic cups and freeze overnight until solid.

When you're ready to enjoy, squeeze the bottom of the cup to release the limber, flip it upside down, add a generous swirl of whipped cream, and enjoy!

Trust me—it's worth every calorie.

One issue many foreigners in the Dominican Republic overlook is driving legally long-term.

A foreign driver’s license is generally only valid for a limited period after entering the country. To properly obtain a Dominican driver’s license through INTRANT, legal residency and a Dominican cédula are normally required.

Big news for the southwest region of the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic has set July 2027 as the target date for the opening of the Cabo Rojo International Airport, a key component of the tourism development taking place in Pedernales. The area has already welcomed more than 133,000 cruise passengers and is expected to see additional growth as new tourism projects continue to come online.

According to recent reports, the airport is expected to become a major gateway for the region, supporting the continued expansion of hotels, infrastructure, and tourism-related investment. Between the cruise port, new resorts, improved roads, and now an international airport, Pedernales continues evolving into one of the Caribbean's most closely watched emerging destinations.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts tourism, real estate, and investment opportunities over the coming years.
