All About Vista Mar, Alcossebre
Enjoy a holiday here in Alcossebre a really lovely unspoilt part of Spain. The stretch of coast is prettily known as the Orange Blossom Coast! The House:
The house itself is one of 5 on a little row of cute Spanish terraces called Vista Mar (View of the Sea). It has 3 bed Bedrooms; 2 bedrooms have a double bed and 1 bedroom has 2 single beds). The main bedroom has
a balcony looking out towards the sea. There is 1 bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs. It has a separate kitchen and a lounge dining area. In the lounge area there are two small sofas, a stereo system, satellite TV (Spanish), a DVD player and a video player. In the dining section there is a dining table that seats 6. The lounge diner also has a ceiling fan. Just off this area there is also a large terrace where you can sit and relax during your evenings with a drink or take your breakfast outside and enjoy the warm climate. There is a paved garden area with an in built BBQ at the end of the garden. There is back gate access, which is great when you arrive back home sandy after a swim in the sea as you can hose your feet before you go in. There is a fantastic large communal swimming pool literally under a minute out of the front door. Usually this stays nice and quiet, as there are not a huge amount of residents who are allowed to use the pool. There is grass around the pool so it’s nice and soft for laying out your towel. There are poolside showers and a small kiddy pool. The tennis court is just a stones throw away too! There is also an additional shared BBQ and seating arrangement in the communal area and a large washing line in case you can’t fit all your washing on the balcony. There is plenty of parking at Vista Mar. Activities:
When it comes to spending time on the beach you are seriously spoilt for choice here! There are 5 Blue flag sandy beaches, from small coves to long stretches, each of them has it's own unique feel. The nearest sandy beach also has a little beach bar during summer months and there is also a little restaurant nearby. There is a lovely little port area where you can go and eat dinner or an ice cream in the evening or test out the local nightlife in a few bars. There are local activities for all the family including golf, horse riding, tennis, scuba diving and sea fishing. Golf: There are two excellent courses within 30 minutes designed by Bernhard Langer and Sergio Garcia. Alcossebre:
Alcossebre itself has ample shopping facilities and some really delightful little tapas bars and restaurants to try. It is a small but a bustling traditionally Spanish resort, with beautiful beaches and natural parks. There are many walks nearby such as that to the lighthouse or a wonderful walk along the promenade to the town. There is a large modern supermarket with walking distance and from May to September a weekly evening street market. There is a mountainous area to the back of the house where you will find a well known restaurant called El Pinar where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the town and try to spot Vista Mar from the high position! Local interest:
The local town of Alcala de Chivert is good for a potter about nearby and a coffee. Castellon is much better for shopping if you are after the Spanish fashion shops and an insight into city living in this area. Pensicola is a wonderful day out with its ancient walled city, cobbled streets and panoramic sea views. The film El Cid was filmed here. Of course you can visit to the beautiful city of Valencia with ease as well. Benicarlo is about a 25-minute drive and has a daily fish and vegetable market. It also has an excellent train service to and from Barcelona and Valencia. Benicassim is 30 minutes drive away. In Benicassim is the Aquarama water amusement park and some fabulous beaches and restaurants too. Some will know Benicassim already due to it’s famous music festival.
