BIG CHANGES FOR HOLIDAY RENTAL OWNERS IN SPAIN

Spain's Supreme Court has delivered a landmark ruling that could affect thousands of property owners, investors and holiday home landlords across the country.

The national holiday rental register has been scrapped, removing a layer of bureaucracy that many owners felt duplicated existing regional licensing systems.

But before anyone thinks holiday rental regulations have disappeared, there are still important rules that remain in force, particularly across Andalucía and the Costa del Sol.

If you own a property in Spain, are considering investing, or rent through platforms such as Airbnb or Booking.com, this is a development worth understanding.
