FIRA DE L'AIXADA IN MANRESA
During the annual festival Festa de la Llum (Festival of Lights), around February 21, Manresa celebrates that 500 years ago, suddenly a ray of light appeared from Montserrat (mountain range) to La Seu (the Basilica) in the Middle Ages, when there were massive droughts in the country. It was believed that there had to be dug in the line of light channel and after the construction of this Manresa has never had any problems with droughts. Every year during the festival people going on foot, bike or horseback to Montserrat. At this festival the old quarter of Manresa fills with craftsmen, masters of old trades demonstrating their arts, tightrope walkers, troubadours and other elements and attractions from the medieval repertoire.
