From Belgium to Valencia
From childhood onwards I travelled all over Spain with my parents. So my love for Spain is from young on. Because of this I always had the goal to enjoy Spanish life during my retirement. " Two years ago, with circumstances I came to realize that life is to short and thought much about what would really make me happy. I began to ask myself why postpone to move to Spain if I have the opportunity to chase my dream now. Instead of the final destination, Spain became the journey now!
Then began my search for how I could emigrate, what my work opportunities were and how I could start building up a future in Spain. I ended up choosing Valencia. When I first came here for a business trip a few years ago, I felled in love with this city. It is less touristic and busy than the other major cities, the perfect combination between Spanish locals and internationals, there is both a bustling city centre and a beautiful beach and several Dutch and Belgian business opportunities. The sun shines almost everyday here, what else do you want more.
I have experienced that the emigration process can be very disappointing if you don’t speak the language yet and you are often sent from the box to the wall if you do not immediately know at which agencies you need to be. I hope now to be able to use my own experience to guide people who, like me, want to make their dream come true in Valencia. Many people find it very clever that I have taken this step, but I believe that everyone can follow their dreams. If you really want something, you have to continue. Even if it becomes difficult. It will not always be easy, but it is ultimately worth it!
