We considered harvesting these 3 weeks ago but chose to wait. I was a bit worried we’d left it too late but apparently not! However my flabber is gasted! 13kg gathered off the vine that grows above our door! Popping them in the freezer for now and then will make grape jelly preserve in Winter as well as some “moonshine” (Pineau des Charentes) as I do every year. 🍇 🍇 🍷 🍷 🫙 🫙

With the excessive heat this year, keeping the pool crystal clear like this has been a challenge but one we have learned to overcome. We know of other pool owners who lost the battle with algae, cloudy water and smoke debris. Fortunately the weather is now cooler and far more pleasant and there are fewer fires. 🏊

I recently did one of Pauline’s fab introductory glass fusion workshops where I made a couple of coasters and 4 cocktail stirrers. 🍋 🍋 🍋 It’s to be recommended so if any guests staying in the gîtes fancy having a go, it can be arranged. Please just provide plenty of notice and I would suggest it’s arranged for the start of your trip to allow time for the kiln firing or you may find yourself heading home without your finished items. Allow half a day. Just consider letting me join in please! 😂
