Set on the edge of a small hamlet, this 18th century stone cottage is 2.5 kms from Le Vigan with its quaint shops, fishing lake, excellent bakery and specialist butchers.

12 minutes away, by car, is the medieval town of Gourdon with its fortified gate, narrow cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. Perched on a rocky outcrop with fabulous views from the ramparts, this town has fine restaurants, wine caves and a fabulous Saturday market. Definitely worth a visit.

The region is full of medieval villages, chateaux and magnificent gardens, impressive churches, stunning landscapes and fabulous places to eat. It is also home to many cave systems, more than any other region in France, and prehistoric paintings considered to be some of the finest examples in Europe.

Rocamadour, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Grand Sites of France, is just 30km away. With its dramatic, thousand year old village climbing up the cliffside from the valley floor and overshadowed by the 14th century chateau. [The last weekend of September sees the world famous ballon festival, "Le Montgolfier de Rocamadour”, which is simply amazing.]

23km north is Sarlat la Caneda, the most famous town of the region and one of the most renowned and visited in France. Possibly the most attractive medieval town north of the River Dordogne.

Our nearest international airport is Brive-la-Gaillarde, 31km north on the autoroute (A20), has two flights a week from the UK.
Bergerac airport is 96km to the west and Limoges airport is 150km north - just over an hour away on the autoroute.
