Friends, Romans, Countrymen..."For the first time ever: The Tour de France will Finish in Nice!

Due to the impending Olympic Games, for the first time in the history of the Tour de France, instead of finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, this year it will finish… on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice!

Friday-Sunday, July 19-21 – Come visit the free Fan Park just off Place Massena with lots of animations, demos, workshops, displays… and swag!

Saturday July 20 – The action happens at the Nice Port from noon on, for the second-to-last-day festivities leading up to the dramatic shotgun start at 1:35pm as they head up to the mountains.

Saturday night July 20 – Party on the eve of the Tour de France finish with a DJ concert in the Fan Park with Ofenbach at 9:15pm, followed by a giant fireworks/drone show with 1500 drones at 10:30pm on the Prom!

Sunday July 21 – The final day of the Tour de France starts in Monaco with individual time trials: each rider will climb La Turbie and then the Col d’Eze, then zoom down into Nice to finish on the Nice Promenade des Anglais in less than 45 minutes! The first rider is expected to hit the finish line on the Prom at around 3:15pm and the last around 7:30pm, as the tension mounts…

Sunday evening – The Tour de France Awards Ceremony will be held at Place Massena at 7:45pm, right after the last finisher."

This year lots of taxes d'habitation have been sent wrongly by the tax office. If you find it strange that you received one or your child has received one(😅) get in contact with you local tax office or send a message through your account on impots.gouv.fr and they will cancel if it was a mistake.

The increase in privately-managed rental properties in Nice has meant a tightening up of legal requirements for letting a holiday property in recent years. More and more people are renting out their properties on online booking platforms such as Airbnb so the French government has strengthened the controls on these platforms and owners, in order to better regulate the holiday rental market.
Every property in Nice that is not a primary residence and intends to do seasonal rentals has to have a license (French term: changement d’usage) from the townhall.

We understand that UK citizens and residents, as well their spouses, partners and children, are permitted to travel from France to the UK. It covers entry and exit requirements, testing, quarantine and minors travelling. Transiting France is permitted for travellers of any nationality remaining in an international zone in an airport (i.e. changing flights), or for EU nationals who are able to evidence that they are returning to their principal residence. In this last case, an EU national's partner (spouse, civil partner, or cohabiting partner) and children may travel with them regardless of their nationality.

News - Insurance aid for covid related business losses

Insurance group Axa to pay 300 million euros to 15,000 restaurant owners - The insurance group Axa France is to pay 300 million euros to 15,000 restaurant owners to put an end to legal disputes. The group made the announcement this morning. The payment is to absorb part of the losses which have occurred due to covid.
Nearly 1,500 restaurant owners, holders of an insurance contract with a guarantee of operating losses without damage, had taken the insurer to court to obtain compensation.
