What if you consider Pralognan as a base for some serious road cycling? Well, you got it all here:

Pralognan is located at 1450m altitude at the end of the Bozel valley, with the RD915 ending there, and no drivable roads going out and over the mountain passes leading to Italy and the Maurienne. (It has been attempted by moutain bike, though)

This "dead-end-valley" location guarantees much less traffic then in the villages on classic "pass-to-pass-through-routes" such as Val'd"Isere, Bourg St Maurice, and many others.

That being said, due to its central location in the Vanoise Massif towards the Tarentaise, Haute Tarentaise and Maurienne, it is the ideal base for some of the most iconic alpine road cycling in the French Alps.

Well known not only through the Tour de France, the following will give you an idea :
The Col de la Loze is the closest major cycling objective, accessible via Courchevel/Méribel.
The Col de la Madeleine is around 35–45 km away by road to the starting point, while
Bourg-Saint-Maurice, starting point for the
Cormet de Roselend, Col du Petit Saint-Bernard and the long approach to the
Col de l’Iseran, is around 60 km from Pralognan.

For cyclists looking for iconic Tour de France climbs, Pralognan offers a strong central position between the 3 Vallées, Tarentaise and Haute-Tarentaise routes.

For a local warm-up ,the RD915 from Pralognan to Bozel and back up is right at your doorstep, with many variations possible:

The climb from Bozel to Pralognan-la-Vanoise on the RD915 has an average gradient of about 4.4% to 5% and a maximum gradient of 7%.

Total Distance: 11.8 km to 12 km
Elevation Gain: Approximately 890 meters
Average Gradient: 4.4%
Maximum Gradient: 7.0%
Steepness Profile: Very regular after leaving Bozel, rarely going over 6% for any full kilometer
Variations -extensions are :
from RD915 Planay climb to Plan Fournier ( blacktop) 5km, 4% incline

Champagny le Haut
The route from Pralognan to Bozel via the Departmental Road D915 features an average descent/incline of about 4.4% with rolling grades, while the return climb from Bozel to Champagny-le-Haut via the D91b averages 5.05% with steep spikes up to 13%.
Pralognan to Bozel (RD915 Descending / Return)
Distance: ~13 kilometers
Average Incline/Decline: ~4.4%
Profile details: Alternating small climbs and descents until reaching Bozel (~860m elevation), with gentle overall grades and rare steeper sections. [1, 2]
Bozel to Champagny-le-Haut (D91b Ascending)
Distance: ~12–13 km to Le Laisonnay/Champagny-le-Haut
Average Incline: 5.05% average gradient
Maximum Incline: Up to 13% (notably in the village crossing of Champagny and around the snow sheds/paravalanches)
Profile details: Starts in Bozel before climbing steadily past Champagny village into the high pastures.
