“This was my third stay at Wonderful Escapes, this time in the amazing wooden cabin called The Owl House.

What a ‘wonderful’ experience it was! The cabin has everything you could possibly need, it’s super cozy, very private, beautifully designed AND it has an outdoor bath tub!

We went for lots of lovely walks, visited Hay on Wye, sat outdoors at night with a roaring fire and savoured the whole notion of ‘escape’. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough”

Our Miniture Mediterranean Donkeys are kind, deep thinking and affectionate. They love cuddles and human interaction. Come and give them a kiss when you visit the farm.

One of the best things about Wern-y-Cwm Farm is our 30 min private route walk across the farm to reach the summit of the Skirrid views over 7 counties, namely: Gloucestershire, Bristol & Avon, Wiltshire, Powys, Herefordshire, Somerset & Monmouthshire of course. You will often be totally alone unlike so many other iconic trig points. We love a “working walk”.

The White Castle bedroom is a peaceful retreat filled with light, comfort and countryside calm.

If you’re staying in this room, be sure to look out the window and you’ll spot the famous White Castle in the distance — which might just explain the room’s name!

“This farm is really the best of the best! Probably the loveliest Airbnb I’ve stayed at.

Sitting within gorgeous Welsh countryside, right at the base of Skirrid, the farm is a sanctuary away from the chaos of normal life. The buildings are beautifully decorated - quirky but not over the top. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and Laura even lent us an electric whisk for my daughter’s birthday cake!

The grounds were fabulous, even in dreary February. I’m sure they are even more wonderful in the height of Summer! We didn’t brave the natural swimming pool but the water was super clear and again really well thought out in design.

The farm cats Sammy and Bubbles were my children’s favourite! So friendly and followed us everywhere round the garden.

Despite being tucked away up a single track lane, the farm is only 10 mins from Abergavenny where there are plenty of amenities and a cool Saturday market. Can’t rate Laura, her team and her farm highly enough. A very special find!”
