The part of Plastering that people don't see!

Preperation is everything in this trade. If you fail to prepare and stabilize your backgrounds then the plaster will fail without question.

You can't plaster over wallpaper, old crumbling flakey plaster or unstable or secure backgrounds ad they will quite simply not support the weight and stress of two new coats of plaster.

Here at H-G Plastering we do not take any chances! You do the job right or you do it twice....

And whilst any warranty callbacks would be dealt with promptly should we ever receive any, the best practice is to avoid it in the first place.

Today was a very productive day, Zak had (by himself) stripped multiple panels of coving down, half a rooms worth of wallpaper and removed two old ceilings before lunch!😎💪 I can only imagine how fun the clean up must have been🧽🧹.

And how satisfying that we'll earned shower was when he got home😅

Saggy cieling!

A client of ours had recently purchased a property to fix up and make her new home. Sadly there are some things that need correcting before we can put the new cieling on.

A builder had decided to overboard an old crumbling cieling by laying batons over the old cieling and then boarding over that. Unfortunately the new cieling had pulled the batons out of the previous rotton cieling and had started to sag quite badly.

Some may have decided to overboard without inspecting what lies behind, not us! We had a feeling that something sinister was hiding behind the cover up.

Now fortunately for our client she will have a brand new ceiling reinstated directly onto the original rafters with a guarantee that it will hold up to the test of time!

We look forward to finishing this project and helping Jay turn her new house into her new home💚

Mirror mirror in the wall🪞

Here's a little more content from our time over at Andy's, these two walls were a very satisfying way to start the day.

Many plasterers in the industry love to boast a high shine highly polished mirror finish, who could blame them? They are extremely fulfilling to look at (and touch, but more on that in just a second!).

Did you know that there are actually two downsides to a highly polished mirror finish🤔?

The first being that when the decorators come to paint them, the roller will glide along the wall like glass and not deposit much paint on the slick surfaces.

The second being that it is so enticing for the client to run their hands along the beautifully glossy brand new wall that they have just had installed. Many are not aware of this, but the oils in your fingers leave a residue on the surface of the wall that often times will show up in the paint as imperfections!

Our team had a blast laying this concrete slab in preparation for a shed to be built at the horse and cart pub in peasmarsh, Rye. In the 30+ degree heat they kept us well refreshed all day long to keep us working hard in the heat⚒️💪.

We even stayed for some delicious steak burgers once the job had been completed as we sat back and admired our hard work😎

Would you believe that this wagon has a capacity of 600KG?!?!

Well we put this to the test! In the 30+ degree sun nonetheless😎🌞

A friend of the team had asked to employ our services to help him with some Landscaping as he was left shorthanded by his crew at the last minute. But never fret, we are not afraid of a bit of weekend graft!

I couldn't ask for a better laborer on these hard days! Be very mindful who who you keep around you as this could make or break your business when met with hard work💪

Don't worry, I bought him a slushy on our lunch break (which he dicided to work through to get us home nice and early 😮💚)
