I don’t know if other people have noticed that there are two youths riding around on an illegal electric pushbike here in the Close and the surrounding area. I say illegal because the bike has obviously been tampered with to exceed the legal speed limit.

It first came to my attention recently when the two boys were at the junction, both on the same bike. More recently one boy was going up and down as fast as possible whilst his friend filmed him. Whilst going up he nearly hit the back end of a car slowing down to enter a drive.

Later the cyclist went up the big hill and his friend stood at the entrance to film him coming down. Were this boy to run into someone, particularly an elderly resident, the result would likely to be fatal. I’ve reported the matter to our local councillor, Josh Tuck, who was most helpful. If you see the lads concerned or similar incidents please contact Josh, who liaises closely with the police. Let’s keep our Close safe. Josh Tuck Councillor for Baglan

Just to make you aware, Steve and myself saw two dodgy looking teenagers on a pushbike leaving Hilltop Close as we were turning in. Just make sure you keep doors locked and ring 999 if you get concerned.

Op Chirk | The latest Op Chirk day of action has seen more outstanding suspects arrested across the areas of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Last Friday (March 27), 34 outstanding suspects in total were arrested for a wide variety of offences. These included high-priority suspects arrested for knifepoint robbery, r**e and domestic violence GBH, as well as ten high-risk domestic violence cases and several volume crime offenders. Additionally, further suspects were arrested on warrants and recalls.

Nine of the 34 have since been charged with over 30 offences between them. Two have been recalled to prison, while a further 12 have been bailed with conditions.

Detective Chief Inspector Alethea Fowler said: “This Op Chirk day of action saw our officers and staff plan and execute over 30 arrests of outstanding offenders. I commend the work of our Custody Services team for promptly managing the prisoners, and to the Hub and CID officers for their commitment to progressing the investigations.

“Additionally, thank you must also go to the Operation Sceptre team who located a high-priority suspect just fifteen minutes after being tasked!

“The recent action has significantly strengthened our community safety by the successful removal of dangerous offenders from the area."

Positive Action

Hello Sara

Thank you for responding to our survey.

We have been working hard in Baglan targeting anti-social behaviour.

Recently officers have conducted a weapon sweep of Baglan park and surrounding areas as part of County Lines Awareness week. No weapons or concerning items found at the time of the sweep but an area was identif8ied for a congregation point of youths in the evenings with evidence of possible drug use at the location was identified and large amounts of rubbish dumped at the location.
We will make this area a hotspot for further patrols and ask that should you have any concerns over persons using drugs or causing issues at the location to please contact police.

Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.
