Was great to be able to donate and help.... what a fantastic cause....Thanks Bonnie Pope for sorting for us....
✨ Community Christmas Fundraiser – Thank You! ✨
Before Christmas, we held a charity fundraiser in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice, and what started as a simple idea quickly turned into something truly magical.
We gave a shout-out to our amazing WR3 community, and before I knew it, a whole team of volunteers had come together to help organise and take part on the day. My original vision was a Santa’s grotto, mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies, a raffle, maybe some singing and food… but the reality was so much more.
We ended up with:
🎅 Two grottos – one for Santa and one for Mrs Claus
📸 A photographer
✉️ Letter writing with elves
🍔 The local scouts making food
☕️ The running of a canteen
🎟️ Three raffle stalls
🍭 A candyfloss lady
🎶 And the wonderful Musical Munchkins, who performed for everyone
Almost everything on the day was donated by local people – Christmas trees, lights, decorations, teddy bears, raffle prizes, cups, drinks… honestly, everything that made the event possible. The generosity was overwhelming.
Thank you to Mark Harris for letting us turn the site into a grotto!
