🏠 “Can you quote me for a house move? It’s only 2 minutes down the road!” 🚚
We hear this a lot! 😄
But the distance between the two properties is only one small part of the quote.
A move that’s 2 minutes away could be half a van load… or 4 van loads! 😳 And there’s a big difference in the time, vehicles and manpower needed.
To give you an accurate quote, we need to know things like:
📦 How much are you moving?
🏡 What type and size of property?
🪜 Are there stairs or lifts?
🚚 Can we park close to both properties?
🔑 Will you already have the keys, or are you waiting for completion?
⏰ Is it a completion-day move?
🛏️ Are there large, heavy or awkward items?
🔧 Does anything need dismantling or reassembling?
🏚️ Are there garages, sheds, lofts or outbuildings involved?
And anything else that could affect the time or difficulty of the move.
Why do we ask so many questions?
Because the last thing we want to do is give you a price based purely on the distance, only to find out on moving day that there’s far more involved than originally expected.
We want to give you a fair, realistic and accurate quotation from the start — and that means understanding your move properly. 👍
So when we ask questions, don’t worry… we’re not being nosey! 😂
