A huge highlight from the festival of business fair was meeting the inspiring George Clarke! It was great to hear how he got into Architecture and to witness his genuine passion for great design first hand!

As a father myself, I too share his concerns for the UK housing crisis which is going to take big changes to planning policy to permit new towns and remove blocks for development.

Feeling energised to finalise a Building Regs submission for a project in South Essex tonight.

Big thanks to the Essex Chamber of Commerce for hosting.

Its been a busy week with a project being submitted to building control, the granting of planning permission on an extension in Chelmsford and appointment on two local projects. I also met with the water authority to look at a sewer connection. Next week is looks to be equally as busy! I used my mobile office this week thanks to my Field Shelf. Have a great weekend!

Dear All - I took my watch off this evening to work on the car and drove to Benfleet with it still on the roof for at least some of the journey!

The watch is an automatic Citizen 1990's divers watch with a webbing strap like in this photo I've just found on the web. The watch was not in as good a condition as the one in the photos, as is potentially in a lot worse condition now!

The watch isn't particularly valuable (£100 in 1992), however it was a Christmas present from my parents when I was doing my diving training.

If anyone finds it I would be very grateful for its return.

I presume it was lost somewhere between Nayling Road and Great Notley.

Many thanks!

When the Titanic sank, it carried millionaire John Jacob Astor IV. The money in his bank account was enough to build 30 Titanics. However, faced with mortal danger, he chose what he deemed morally right and gave up his spot in a lifeboat to save two frightened children. Millionaire Isidor Straus, co-owner of the largest American chain of department stores, "Macy's," who was also on the Titanic, said, "I will never enter a lifeboat before other men." His wife, Ida Straus, also refused to board the lifeboat, giving her spot to her newly appointed maid, Ellen Bird. She decided to spend her last moments of life with her husband.

These wealthy individuals preferred to part with their wealth, and even their lives, rather than compromise their moral principles. Their choice in favor of moral values highlighted the brilliance of human civilization and human nature.

It was lovely to revisit this ambitious project which involved the transformation and extension of a 1960’s house in a conservation area. The clients had a clear idea of the essence of what they wanted inspired from their travels. The build was project managed by the owners to maintain strict control of their budget and will be an on going project for a while to come.

Get in touch and we can discuss your ideas and we will guide you through to realising your dream home.
