"On the recommendation of our hosts, we walked the couple of minutes down to the Black Horse. We were greeted by friendly staff and were able to get a table in The Driftwood Restaurant. The food was delicious and of excellent quality. We highly recommend any guests staying at the Den to book a meal there."

This is a really thoughtful and comfortable setup. Everything has been thought of. Worthy of a longer stay but perfect for my one night. Back on the coast path today.

Perfect in every way! Immaculate bed, comfy, sheets dreamy. Exactly what my weary bones needed after a 15 mile walk. Will highly recommend to other walkers.

What a find. Very well planned and thoughtfully put together set up – loved the milk in the fridge for a much needed mug of tea and the instant porridge for breakfast to set me on my walk the next day. Incredibly cosy and not at all cramped. I loved my brief stay and slept like a log. Great hosts.

Hi everyone.
Our small and quirky Den is very close to the gorgeous Ash Barton Estate. Over the summer, many of our guests have been attending one of the amazing weddings up there.

This is our latest feedback from our lovely guests who recently stayed:
"Perfect location for an Ash Barton Wedding. We walked back at midnight. Our host was super helpful and flexible with checking in and out times so we could get ready before the wedding. We couldn't recommend The Den any higher. We really appreciated the lift back up to collect our car in the morning. What a great find. One of the best accommodation we've stayed in. As described, thoughtful touches, friendly and welcoming with a beautiful garden to look at. And to top it all, the bed was really comfy!"

The Den is an only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Braunton.

The accommodation space
We have purposely designed The Den as a private retreat for 1-2 guests. The owners live in the adjacent main house should guests have any queries, but The Den has its own private, gated entrance, and guests will be undisturbed. We want you to have all the peace and seclusion you want; somewhere to crash and be cosy after a day exploring or adventuring.

The Den is compact but light and airy with everything you would expect to need for your stay.

It is separated from the main house by a gravel path and it is well equipped with a counter top fridge (with small freezer compartment for ice cubes for your G&T, or an icepack for your picnic), microwave oven, kettle, toaster and modern furnishings.

Tea bags, coffee, fruit/herbal teas and sugar is available.

Crisp white bedlinen is provided on the very comfy double bed and a drop down table is available for eating and working at.

There is a fenced-off outside space to sit with a morning coffee, an end of day hot chocolate, and to hang wetsuits out to dry; it overlooks our mature and pretty garden.

There is free driveway parking for one vehicle.

The Den has fast Wi-Fi at 67mbps download and 18mbps upload

Bikes and surfboards can be stored at the front of ‘The Den’.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome and Enya, the hosts’ little Romanian rescue scruffy dog will be sure to welcome you to ‘The Den’!

There is a medium size Tesco’s in the village, a local Co- op, greengrocer, butcher and a food store, Cawthorne’s, that has ‘everything’. Groceries and goods can easily be delivered from the Barnstaple Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

There are leaflets and a helpful information pack in The Den to help you make the most of your stay.

The Den is a non-smoking and non-vaping space, except in the outside seating area.

Electric vehicle charging points are close: InstaVolt (Braunton Service Station, 1 Southlands, Braunton EX33 2BJ), BP Pulse (314 S W Coast Path, Braunton, Barnstaple EX31 4AX), and Podpoint Charging Station (at Tesco, Velator Way, Braunton, EX33 2FB).
