An underground rail network is coming to Bristol!

It's great to see these plans progressing. Hopefully this will help reduce our reliance on cars and cut our carbon footprint.

❓ Would you find a metro system useful where you live?

Marvin Rees said the underground rail network would provide a 'viable alternative to private cars'.

Do you want to give your house a fresh new look? And keep costs down at the same time? Here are some easy tips to redecorate without breaking the bank:

1. Paint! It's one of the easiest and cheapest ways to transform your rooms. A fresh coat can instantly update a space and make it feel completely different.

2. If you really want to save - why not try rearranging your furniture to give an updated feel to a room. And a surprise to your family when they see it in the morning!

3. When dividing up your budget, it's a good idea to spend just a little more on the items that you'll use often and for years to come. This is especially true for your sofa!

4. Charity shops can hold some real wonders and unique pieces to bring interest to your home. You can even upcycle certain items to give them a fresher look.

No matter how neat and tidy you naturally are, it's all too easy for clutter to pile up in your home. Decluttering before you move makes sure you enter your new home with only the things you need. Here are some ways to tackle the decluttering process:

1. Tackle each room one by one, that way you aren't overwhelmed or rushed.

2. Create a “maybe” box, for the items you aren't sure if you should donate, keep, or get rid of just yet.

3. Be brutally honest and think about the last time you used each item. If you haven't used it in the last 12 months chances are you don't have a use for it.

4. Leave the harder decisions for last, such as what to do with unused but sentimental gifts, so you don’t get frustrated with de-cluttering.

5. Odds are good your bathroom or pantry contains a few items past their prime. Before you pack anything, check for an expiration date or think back to when you bought it.

Ready for a mini-makeover? These quick-and-easy ideas will give your kitchen a new look in no time. Whether you can spend a lot, a little or nothing at all there's something here for every budget:

1. Existing open shelves or glass-door cabinets are the perfect opportunity to give your kitchen a new look. Clear everything from the shelves, and then add decorative (and useful) items.

2. Brighten up your kitchen with some unique light fixtures that add light and style to the space.

3. A fresh coat of paint is a relatively easy way to update cabinets that are sound and functional but less than lovely looking.

4. Upgrade your tap and cupboard handles for an updated look.

Damp not only looks bad, but can be awful for your health. If you have a problem with damp give these tips a go to make your home feel warm and welcoming once again:

1. If the damp is on your top floor then check your roof for damage.

2. Inspect the pointing of exterior brickwork. If you have crumbling mortar ask a professional to take a look and advise on the best course of action.

3. Try to maintain a more constant temperature in your property. It's better to keep your thermostat to a lower temperature for a longer period of time rather than short sharp rises. This will help prevent condensation from developing.

4. If needed you can use a dehumidifier to remove excess moisture. This will bring your home back to feeling warm and comfortable once the main source of the problem has been fixed.

When looking for a home it’s easy to think with your heart instead of your head. Use this house hunting checklist to make sure you don’t miss a thing:

1. Location - Is the location what you were looking for? Are there good schools in the area? How far is it from work?

2. Smells - Are there any abnormal smells? These could point out potential issues that you can’t see.

3. Lighting - Natural light is something that is often overlooked. If that’s important to you, consider how the rooms will look like at different times of the day.

4. Shape & Size of Rooms - Look at the layout of each room and consider they have enough space for you and think about where you might put your own furniture in each room.

5. Parking - Is it available? If there isn't any, is there off-street parking nearby?
