Development potential isn't always sitting in an empty field. Sometimes it's already part of the places we use every day.

Court Farm Mews started as an underused/deteriorating commercial site in Westbury-on-Trym, with garages and an office/commercial element.

Today, it has full planning permission for four 3-bedroom homes alongside a detached commercial building.

The story behind the planning permission shows what was involved: recognising the potential of an underused site, understanding its constraints, developing an appropriate scheme and working through a detailed planning process.

Sites like this are also a useful reminder that development opportunities can take many forms: garages, workshops, yards, unused buildings and other property that may no longer be making the best use of its space.

New projects. New beginnings. And a look back at where we've just been.

With both homes at Alveston now completed and sold, our attention is turning to the next chapter for Landhaven.

But before we move on completely, we thought it was worth looking back at just how much can change.

This timelapse captures the Alveston development taking shape – from the early stages on site to two finished, energy-efficient homes.

Behind a few minutes of footage are months of planning, design, problem-solving, collaboration and attention to detail.

And now the cycle begins again.

At Westbury-on-Trym, we've recently secured planning permission for four new homes and a commercial unit, while at Backwell we're at the beginning of another new development journey.

Both homes at Alveston are now sold 🎉

We’re delighted to share that the second of our two eco bungalows at Alveston has now sold - meaning both homes in this development have found their new owners.

It’s a fitting final milestone for a project that has been a real journey for Landhaven.

From identifying the potential of an underused site, through planning, design and construction, our aim was always to create something that felt right for its setting: two thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient homes, built with care and made to last.

Seeing both homes completed and now sold is a proud moment for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the team, partners and investors who helped bring the project to life - and we wish the new owners many happy years in their new homes.
