🍄 MARGO… AND THE GIANT MUSHROOMS! 🍄😂

What would your dog do???

We’ve had some seriously HUGE mushrooms springing up in our dog walking field this week… and honestly, they’re getting bigger than Margo! 🐾🤣

📸 Margo has very kindly provided herself as a size comparison because apparently a tape measure wasn’t dramatic enough! 😂

Don’t worry… we’re definitely NOT eating them! 🙈🍄

But it did make me realise just how much our dogs love having space to explore here at Plas Y Wern. 💚

🐾 Our dog walking field gives your four-legged friends plenty of room to sniff, explore and have a proper run around, with our 7 acres of countryside, coastal views and lovely walks right on the doorstep.

And yes… apparently it also grows mushrooms of impressive proportions! 😂🍄

🌊 Have you ever really looked at where Cardigan sits????

This view really shows just how special the setting of Cardigan is. 💙

Here you can see the River Teifi winding its way towards the sea, with St Dogmaels, Gwbert and Poppit Sands all visible in the distance.
And then beyond that… Cardigan Bay and the open sea. 🌊

It’s one of the things we love about this part of West Wales — you’re never far from the water, but you also have a lovely market town, riverside walks, beaches, coastal villages and miles of beautiful countryside right on your doorstep.

From Cardigan, you can head down towards Gwbert and the coast, wander around historic St Dogmaels, enjoy the beach at Poppit Sands or follow the River Teifi in the opposite direction into the Welsh countryside.
And from Plas Y Wern Holidays, we're perfectly placed to explore it all. 🌿

Our little corner of Ceredigion sits above Tresaith, with the Cardigan Bay coastline, coastal paths, beaches and all these wonderful places just a short drive away.

🔨✨ A little time out from bookings… but definitely not from work!

This week we’ve taken a little time between bookings to give Awel Y Môr some TLC and get a few jobs ticked off the list. 🧽🧹

The barn floor has been stripped back and waxed again, giving it a lovely fresh finish, and our woodburner has had a little makeover too — it’s gone from cream to pewter, and we absolutely love the new look! 🩶🔥

We’ve also added new curtain poles — it’s amazing how these little changes can freshen up a room! 🪟✨
And finally… we’ve listened to our lovely guests! ❤️

🍽️ A dishwasher has now been installed! 🎉

It’s something guests have mentioned, so we thought… why not? We want your stay to be as relaxing as possible, and who wants to spend their holiday washing dishes? 😂

Although… if we’re being completely honest, it’s a bit of a win-win because it’s going to make changeover days a whole lot easier for us too! 😉🙌

So while the bookings may have slowed down for a few days, there’s always something happening behind the scenes at Plas Y Wern Holidays.

We’re constantly tweaking, improving and listening to feedback to make sure our lovely guests have the best stay possible. 🌊🌿🐾

☕️🌊 A lovely afternoon Seals Bay Cafe Cwmtydu ☕️🧁🌊

Yesterday we popped over to Seal Bay Café in Cwmtydu for a lovely afternoon treat, and we were so pleased to see this little gem back open again. ❤️

Tina and her partner have relocated here and taken on the business, bringing it back to life after it had been closed for a while. It’s lovely to see it open again and being enjoyed, and we wish them both every success with their new venture. 🥰
It’s definitely somewhere we’ll be recommending to our guests at Plas Y Wern Holidays. If you’re staying with us, why not make the trip down and support this lovely local business? 🌿🐾🌊

📍 Getting there from Plas Y Wern:
The easiest and most direct route is to head along the coastal road past Plwmp, then look out for the sign on the left for Cwmtydu – 4 miles. The road is narrow in places, but it’s the most direct way to get there.
A lovely little outing, and even better knowing you’re supporting a local couple who are putting their heart into bringing this venue back to life. ❤️

There’s so much to see and do around us, and with all the Christmas craft fairs, independent shops and festive events starting to appear, now is the perfect time to secure your pitch and come and explore this truly amazing part of West Wales.

Our little CL is in an incredible location, set above Cardigan Bay with countryside, sea views, sunsets and plenty of space to relax.

And you can quite literally leave the van here and head out exploring! 🚶‍♀️🐾

🌊 Coastal path walks from the site to Tresaith 30min head down towards Aberporth, or up towards Penbryn and Llangrannog.

🐕 Plenty of space for the dogs, including our dog exercise field.

🌿 7 acres of countryside to enjoy.

🚗 Around an hour from Tenby, St Davids and Aberystwyth, making us a great base for exploring more of West Wales.

🎁 And don't forget Cardigan — packed with fantastic independent shops selling beautiful Welsh crafts, local food, cheeses, wines, gifts and all those lovely things you didn't know you needed until you saw them! 😂❤️

Do you love an Indian?

We had a lovely evening Abduls Restaurant in Cardigan yesterday to celebrate Steve’s birthday. 🎂❤️

Even with guests checking out, getting everything sorted and a toilet being delivered 😂, we managed to sneak away for a lovely meal and we’re so glad we did!

The food was delicious, the service was lovely and it was the perfect place for a birthday meal. 🍛🥂

We’d definitely recommend Abdul’s to our guests staying at Plas Y Wern if you’re looking for a great Indian meal while you’re here in Ceredigion.

Emlyn Bakes one of our suppliers has launched a cake shed so if your visiting or traveling via Newcastle Emlyn you can pick some up or order from me list in Guest Guide.

The cake shed will be open from 9am - 9pm tomorrow (Friday 10th) until Monday🥳 tag your friends to spread the word!

We will have:
