Did you know, if you’re buying a property, the best time to get an asbestos survey done is during the conveyancing process.

Lots of people come to us after they’ve bought a property, and by that point it’s too late to ask for help from the seller. If they had checked for asbestos during conveyancing they could have used it to negotiated the sale price.

Unless a property has been fully refurbished, there’s a high chance asbestos may be present so you’re better off doing a survey.

A homebuyer came to us after her building survey highlighted a risk of asbestos 🏠

After taking samples, we found there was asbestos in several locations in the property. We quoted her for removal and she used this to negotiate the final purchase price. We then booked her in for removal the week after completion.

The asbestos was safely removed and the home was left clean 🧼 💫

We carried out sampling of these ceilings in and lab analysis confirmed asbestos was present. The homeowner was planning refurbishment works and this needed to be safely removed before the builder could get underway with the loft conversion and house refurbishment.
