U10s NDYFL Invitational Cup - Round 2

After receiving a bye in the first round, the U10’s faced a very tough second round tie against Next Gen FC. Having played them earlier in the season, the team knew already they were the real deal, but eager to pull off an upset nonetheless!

Before the game both teams paid their respects impeccably in the minutes silence in solid embrace.

From the initial kick off both sets of supporters were in for a real treat!

Great football being played by both sides…however Next Gen having the lion’s share of possession. Despite the pressure, Brampton did what they do best, soak it up and look to hit on the break creating several good chances.

After Next Gen hitting the bar twice, robust Brampton defending and some superb goalkeeping from Toby, the game was level at half time. 0-0.

The Brampton team talk at half time was a calm, subtle message to keep going and that we could do this!

The second half started with Brampton now in the ascendancy, bringing the game to the opposition.

In a superb counter and great whole team move, Max scored from close range to make it 1-0! I’ve seen a lot in kids football… but sure that anyone watching could see that was the moment the whole Brampton team actually believed they could win it!

Shortly after, another great move and cross into the box into Gabe who dispatched a fine first time shot into the bottom corner sending the Brampton faithful into raptures. 2-0.

The final whistle saw the end to a brilliant team performance and Brampton pushing through to the 3rd round with a fine win!

Every player in the Brampton blue probably had a decent claim to player of the match… so a difficult decision for the referee.

Andreas appointed player of the match by the referee, won every challenge he went for all over the pitch and also a vital assist. Also as ‘demanded’ by the opposition’s parents, Toby given joint player of the match for a magical goalkeeping display for the clean sheet. Chesterfield PAT Services

Well done Brampton, keep up the great work!

The Brampton U9’s NDYFL team rounded out their season at the Staveley tournament this morning.

Some very competitive football being played from all teams and Brampton can hold their heads high in how they went about it.

Our focus has always been player development over results… and boy have the team have developed and improved so much over the course of season! All players progressing well technically and growing in confidence as a team with plenty of great performances, memories and friendships made.

Congratulations on a great season. Looking forward to the next one already!

A big thank you to our sponsor, Chesterfield PAT Services!

NDYFL

Another gloriously sunny Saturday morning for the U8’s who faced Somersall Bulldogs at an usually warm Clowne MSSC.

Brampton started the game well, limiting the superior opposition to only a couple of clear cut chances in the first quarter of an hour. Some tough tackling with good work getting the ball out wide to create a few chances of their own.

Somersall then went up through the gears before the break and into the second half putting lots of pressure on Brampton, with long range efforts and some very well worked corners straight from the training ground.

The Brampton boys and girls did rally in the last 10 in an attempt to break the cycle, and went on to start creating chances of their own.

The ‘SafaPond’ Player of the Match was awarded to Jacob for his excellent work ethic and leading the best of Brampton’s attacking efforts.

Special mention to Albi, who never gave up, even after after being on the receiving end of a several brave blocks to save his team!

As always, thanks to our kind sponsors ‘SafaPond Direct’ and ‘Chesterfield PAT Services’.
