Saint George is the patron saint of England in a tradition established in the Tudor period, based in the saint's popularity during the times of the Crusades and the Hundred Years' War.

Veneration of the saint in folk religion declined in the 18th century. Attempts to revive the celebration of Saint George's Day (23 April) as an expression of English culture and identity date from the foundation of Royal Society of St. George in 1894. Since the beginning of the 2010s, such efforts have resulted in St George's Day celebrations with aspects of a national holiday in England.

This national holiday in Brazil is celebrated annually on April 21st.

Tiradentes Day in Brazil commemorates the ex*****on of Brazilian national hero Joaquim Jose da Silva Xavier (August 16th 1746 - April 21st 1792).

History of Tiradentes Day
Xavier was a Brazilian revolutionary who, as a founder of the InconfidĂȘncia Mineira movement, fought for Brazilian independence and freedom from Portuguese colonial power.

At the time, Portugal was imposing onerous tax burdens on the Brazilians, as they tried to maintain income from the colony despite declining levels of gold being mined.

Tiradentes hatched a plan to take to the streets and declare independence on a day when taxes were due. The plan was betrayed and the rebels were arrested in February 1789.

The Day of Valor, officially known as Araw ng Kagitingan, is a national observance in the Philippines that commemorates the fall of Bataan and the Battle of Corregidor against Japanese troops during World War II. The day is officially celebrated every April 9, marking the start of the Bataan Death March, although the date has been moved on several occasions to avoid coinciding with the observance of Holy Week in the country, particularly the Easter Triduum and Easter Sunday, such as in 2004, 2009, 2020, and 2023
