A lovely afternoon spent at Tilgate Park celebrating its 60th birthday.
So nice to see everyone coming out and enjoying the sunshine, dancing and running round the Walled Garden.

A little catch up from my week…
It’s been a bit of a mixed one! 🤪

🦁 I’ve been volunteering at Tilgate Zoo — including shifting a ridiculous amount of greenery around.
🚶‍♀️ A local community connection walk
🏡 Two property networking events.
🌳 And 6am walks round Tilgate Park.

It might not look like your typical estate agent week, but being out, meeting people, getting involved locally and actually talking to people is a big part of how I want to work.
I want to be an agent who is on the ground, listening, getting involved and building genuine relationships — not just someone you hear from when you’re ready to put your house on the market 🏡
Because ultimately, property is about people first.

So that’s been my week.

A bit of property. A bit of community. A lot of walking. And quite a lot of bushes. 😂

On a rainy day like today, being this close to the station is definitely a bonus. ☔️

Here’s the walk from Turks Croft to Ifield station, so you can see just how close it really is.

It only took me 4 minutes, and direct trains to London too!

Not a bad commute 🚂

Imagine switching off for the bank holiday… and this being home 🏡

Slow mornings. A huge garden. A swimming pool. Dinner with family and friends 🩷

Character, space and plenty of room for those slower days.

And when you do need to head out, you’re still close to Ifield station, Crawley and the M23.

Take a look around Turks Croft, Ifield. 🏡

Does the cheapest estate agent give you the best value?
When you’re choosing an estate agent, it’s easy to look at the fee and think, why would I pay more when I can get it cheaper?
A lower fee can mean taking on more properties to make the numbers work. And the more properties you’re responsible for, the less time and attention you have for each homeowner.

Your house might be listed.
The photos might be online.
The board might be up.

But who is actually looking after the sale?
Who is chasing the buyer? Who is keeping you updated? Who is dealing with the problems?

The longer a property sits on the market, the more likely buyers are to wonder “what’s wrong with it?” and eventually you may find yourself having to reduce the price.
Suddenly, that saving on the agent’s fee doesn’t look quite so significant.

Value isn’t in paying the lowest fee. It’s in the service you receive.

Because good service takes time.

Who is actually selling your house? 🏡

Things you should be asking when you’re choosing an estate agent.

You might meet the valuer, have a great conversation and feel really confident that they’re the person who is going to look after you.

But who actually will?

Is it the person who valued your house?
The negotiator dealing with your buyers?
Someone else entirely once the sale is agreed?

I’d ask who is actually going to be taking care of you once you’ve instructed.
Who’s going to be updating you?
How much experience do they have?
Who’s being held accountable?

It’s so important to ask these questions so you can understand and be confident with what the service actually looks like once you’ve instructed.

Because selling a house is about a lot more than getting it on Rightmove.

One of the things I love about coming away from the corporate world and becoming an independent agent, is that I can get involved in the community.
I don’t get home from work exhausted and can actually enjoy the evenings.

Tonight I went to Tilgate Park where they were hosting a gaming night with .
This was the view from the barn we were in. Stunning!

Turks Croft, Ifield, West Sussex

A chance to own a piece of history….

Turks Croft was originally built as an open hall house, where the central fire would have burned beneath the roof, with the smoke rising into the rafters.

You can still see the evidence of that history today, with the original timbers blackened by smoke and later additions showing how the house has evolved over the centuries.

It’s not just a beautiful home, but a little piece of Ifield’s story 🏡
