Demand for rental properties encapsulated

More research has underpinned just how acute the housing shortage is, and the need for new privately rented homes in the UK.

The National Residential Landlord’s Association (NRLA) believe the UK need 230,000 new private rented homes a year to meet government housing targets.

Their research details that if new household demand, owner occupation and social housing needs continue at their 10 year average, then an additional 227,000 homes will be needed per year.
