A unique role within our organisation for someone already experienced in either housekeeping or B & B work. People with this experience coupled with care work, catering, first aid, counselling, knowledge of homelessness and/or cleaning.
The role would suit a hardworking, attentive and flexible individual who would be required to run the day to day operations and ensure the smooth running of accommodation facilities and the safety and well-being of guests/ tenants
You will be working alone and must be reliable and be able to think for yourself, liaising with other departments and attending weekly meeting with the owners.
Duties include, but are not limited to;
GUEST INTERACTION
Develop and build positive relationships with residents.
Our accommodation is spilt into different sections;
1. Males over the age of 35, with catering and day to day management provided
2. Contractors and working individuals who rent a room with facilities
Your role would primarily deal with the first group, however room preparation and check in would be required for the latter.
Of the first group the majority receive benefits (new guests often need help to set these up and the Manager would liaise with our admin office to do this), and they all pay a top up amount towards meals and facilities, which is collected, and recorded, by the Manager on behalf of admin.
The guest profile is all male and over the age of 35, some of these people have made the guest house their home and have been there for a number of years – others are more transient, often due to a change in personal circumstances and sometimes due to homelessness. These people are often dealing with issues, and may suffer from low self esteem and vulnerability.
