sad news.........

Bradford businessman Shabir Hussain who founded Akbar's Restaurants has sadly died at the age of 56.

Akbar's was founded in 1995 when Hussain opened a 28 seat restaurant in Bradford, the award-winning business now has 10 restaurants including in Middlesbrough and Newcastle, employing around 400 staff.

His ethos has always been "anything is possible - it's just a case of how bad you want it"

In a mark of respect, all Akbar's restaurants will be closed today and tomorrow (October 16 and 17) they will reopen at 5pm on Friday (October 18)

Paying tribute to Hussain, Akbar's Restaurant Group said: "Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will all return.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shabir Hussain, founder of Akbar's Restaurant Group.

"All restaurants will now be closed and will reopen on Friday 18th October at 5pm.

"Please remember Shabir Hussain in your prayers. May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest rank in Jannah and bring peace and strength to his family during this difficult time."
