Over the last few weeks, we have been busy crafting decorations for our VE Day display. Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved and showing their creativity.

Today, we celebrated VE Day with a VE-inspired quiz, which brought out everyone’s competitive side. Congratulations to Phil, who was crowned the winner after a closely fought tie-breaker! 🇬🇧🎉

From helpful advice to signposting places for support, we’re encouraging everyone to take a moment to refresh, reset, and look after their wellbeing.

Today’s quiz was a little different. Today we said goodbye to one of our residents, Dennis, aged 98.

In his honour, we created a special quiz all about his life – one of his favourite activities here at Handyside. It was a lovely way to remember him, share memories, and celebrate his life.

A big well done to Colleen, one of the onsite carers who won the quiz. 👏

The money we raised at the quiz was donated to Clear Mind Derby which was close to Dennis’ heart

🐣🌸 Easter Celebrations at Handyside Court 🌸🐣

Today we had a lovely Easter celebration! We started off by getting creative and making our very own Easter bonnets, followed by a delicious buffet enjoyed by all.

To finish the day, we held our annual Easter egg hunt, which brought lots of smiles and laughter. 🐰🍫

Our tombola and “guess the name of the teddy” were a great success, helping us raise some funds for future resident activities – thank you to everyone who joined in! 💛
