Here’s a snippet from an email I received recently: thanks to their survey report, this client successfully negotiated a £15,000 reduction—the cost of replacing the underfelt.

The buyer of this house managed to knock off the costs of remedial works to resolve the damp pe*******on and repair the internal plasterwork; something they would not have been able to do without having a survey on the property.

I have had many people tell me that they did not have a survey on their property because their mortgage lender completed one.

This is a valuation not a survey, the purpose of a mortgage valuation is to ensure the property is adequate security for the lender (meaning they will not lose money on it). It does not benefit you!
