Apparently, we’re doing something right. ❤️

Rightmove recently told us this one, so we double checked it on Twenty EA...

Max 25 homes are selling 15 DAYS FASTER than the local average.

We love houses. But more than that, we love what happens around them.

The move. The next chapter. The relief when everything finally comes together.

So when the figures tell us that homes with Max 25 are selling faster, we’re genuinely pleased.

Not because we’re interested in shouting about a number.

But because behind that number are real people trusting us with something that matters to them.

And that’s something we’ll always care about. ❤️

🌱 Remember those little green shoots we talked about in August?

Well… they might just be growing.

Last month, we talked about seeing some gentle signs of life returning to the property market. Nothing dramatic, and certainly no declarations that everything had suddenly changed – just a little bit of hope underneath what had been a fairly challenging summer.

Now we have some encouraging September figures to add to that.

Rightmove has reported that buyer demand across Great Britain jumped by 5% in the first week of September.

To put that into perspective, the average increase at the same point over the previous five years has been just 0.4%.

And here in the South West? Buyer demand increased by 8% – the second strongest rise of any region. 🌱

Now, before we get carried away, we're keeping our feet firmly on the ground!

Buyer demand is still below where it was this time last year, affordability remains challenging and buyers have plenty of choice. Sensible pricing is still incredibly important.

But after a quieter summer, buyers appear to be coming back to the market – and they're doing it more quickly than we would normally expect at the beginning of September.

For us, that's something worth feeling quietly positive about.

We said in August that perhaps there were some little roots beginning to grow beneath the surface.

September might just be giving us the first glimpse of those shoots appearing. 🌱🏡

And we'll keep watching to see whether they continue to grow.

🏫 Moving to Dorchester? Let’s talk middle schools…

If you’re thinking about moving to Dorchester with children, one thing that can take a little getting used to is our three-tier school system!

After First School, children in Dorchester move on to Middle School from the ages of 9–13, before heading to Upper School.

So, continuing our little tour of Dorchester schools, today we’re looking at…

St Osmund’s sits on the eastern side of Dorchester and has around 700 pupils.

The school describes its curriculum as being about much more than simply preparing children for the next stage of education, with an emphasis on developing confident, curious young people.

For families considering a move to Dorchester, it’s one of the two main middle schools in the town and another important one to have on your radar when you're looking at different areas and schools.

🎓 Dorchester schools spotlight: Manor Park CE First School

Manor Park CE First School is located on Mellstock Avenue, close to Dorset County Hospital and the established neighbourhoods on the western side of Dorchester. 📍🏡

This school has a special place in my heart because my son went here - and he absolutely loved it! 🥰📚

SIGNS THAT SEPTEMBER IS NEAR… 😂

☑️ Bedtime routines that have been completely abandoned for six weeks are suddenly reinstated with military urgency.

☑️ Lunchboxes are recovered from strange places around the house and opened with a degree of caution usually reserved for hazardous materials. 😬

☑️ School shoes that definitely still fitted in July apparently now require toes to be removed.

☑️ There’s a flying visit to Asda for emergency school trousers (Or is that just me? 😂)

☑️ We briefly become the sort of parents who believe we’re going to make interesting, nutritionally balanced packed lunches every morning. Give it a fortnight.

☑️ Someone asks where their PE kit is, as though you were the person who wore it last.

☑️ The school-run traffic returns and we all collectively wonder why we didn't appreciate August more.

☑️ And everyone who said “we’ll think about moving after the summer…” suddenly remembers they said it. 🏡

There’s something about September that always brings a bit of a reset.

Summer holidays are over, routines return and suddenly there’s time to start thinking about all those things that have been firmly filed under “we’ll sort that after the summer…”

And for some of you, that might be moving home. 🏡

Even if you’re only at the “I wonder what mine is worth?” stage, Michéle and I are always happy to pop out for a no-pressure chat about your home and the local market.
