At The Cowshed we welcome dogs as they are part of the family too.

We provide the basic dog essentials for your stay, as well as a secure courtyard there is a secure shared grass area behind The Cowshed which is perfect to let your pooch burn off steam with benches for you to take a cuppa and enjoy the view.

The Cowshed is set in the beautiful Exmoor National Park, which is a perfect setting for exploring with your fury friends. With Dulverton being a dog friendly village it’s the perfect holiday location to explore and relax.

Tarr Steps

This is a personal favourite.
Tarr steps is a beautiful spot in all seasons, with its tranquil quiet setting it’s definitely not one to miss! Tarr Steps is situated across the River Barle within the Exmoor national park. It’s just a ten minute drive or a 4 mile walk from The Cowshed.

With a range of walks leading to and from Tarr Steps it’s a perfect location to explore and take in the fresh air. When visiting Tarr Steps we highly recommend a visit to the Tarr Farm Inn Ltd for a cream tea. It’s perfect for a light bite and a drink or even a evening meal. With a delicious food menu as well as seasonal events during the year it’s well worth a visit.

A warm welcome to The Cowshed.

Retaining the original stone pillars of the farm building, The Cowshed offers all-year-round, 2 bedroom self catering accommodation for 4 in a tranquil setting in Dulverton.

It is all on one level, with a South facing veranda and its own parking in a gated courtyard which is secure for dogs and young children. At an elevation of 1000 ft it affords lovely views over the Barle Valley and to Dartmoor. It is 3 miles to Tarr Steps and the wonderful Exmoor Pony Centre is nearby.
