We are thrilled to share this Esher project with you which celebrates our sister brand, Goldfinches - bespoke furniture pieces designed in our Hampton Court studio and made by Britain’s finest furniture makers.
Some pieces are made to use, and some to keep.
Some, if they are made with enough care, skill, and love — are made to be passed down. This philosophy lies at the heart of Goldfinches.
‘When I first spoke to Lindi Reynolds & Co. about transforming the largest reception room in our home, I hadn’t envisaged such a rich journey into bespoke furniture making. We are now the proud owners of four exquisite Goldfinches pieces: a writing desk, an ottoman and two side tables.
From the very first drawings, it was clear that every decision mattered. The whole process was immensely exciting and, in the end, deeply rewarding. The team listened carefully to how we use the space, and each piece was shaped around the way we live. Watching the designs come to life at the making stage was a real joy, especially seeing how closely the designer and maker worked together.
The real magic, and perhaps the secret to the pieces’ success, was that Lindi pushed me out of my comfort zone. Working with her was a masterclass in creativity. Because I trusted her creative direction, we brought in ideas I would never have had the confidence to try on my own. A beautiful Koto green veneer runs through all four pieces, connecting them and lifting each one. It’s the kind of detail that only bespoke work makes possible.
What I love most is how the pieces feel both timeless and completely right for our family now. There’s a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship, yet the materials are modern and quite unexpected. It makes you really see each piece, and enjoy it all the more.
They have truly transformed our home. A room we once simply walked through is now where we love to gather. Friends always ask about our Goldfinches pieces, and I find myself telling their story with real pride. These are pieces we’ll pass on, and I can already imagine them in my children’s homes one day.’
