♻️ “Can you just take it to the tip?”
It’s something we get asked all the time at J2B, so we thought we’d quickly explain how it works.
As a professional company operating commercial vehicles, we can’t take customers’ waste to a household recycling centre. We’re a licensed waste carrier, so anything we collect must be disposed of correctly at an authorised commercial waste site — where we are charged for disposal.
For full or larger house clearances, using a team like J2B can make much more sense. We can come in, clear everything efficiently and take care of the correct disposal of a large amount of items in one go.
Where it can become less cost-effective is with just one or two items. Mattresses, sofas, fridges and other white goods can cost us up to £60 per item just to dispose of, before labour is taken into account.
That’s why we’ll always be fair with our customers. For a few bulky items, your council’s collection service or taking them to the recycling centre yourself in a suitable car may work out cheaper.
But for a full house clearance or larger clear-out, that’s exactly the sort of job our team is set up to handle.
