We are thrilled to be working again with our friends at Project St Patrick as they prepare for St Patrick's Day 2027.

With Legends of the Lough and Underwater Wonderlands revealed as the theme, we're looking forward to helping showcase the folklore, myths and legendary tales of Lough Erne that have captured imaginations for centuries.

There's plenty to look forward to over the months ahead. Dive into their exciting announcement below.

☘️ 6 MONTHS TO ST PATRICK’S DAY! ☘️

Six months today, we’ll be celebrating St Patrick’s Day in Ireland’s Only Island Town!

And we’re delighted to reveal our 2027 theme…

🌊 LEGENDS OF THE LOUGH… AND UNDERWATER WONDERLANDS 🐚

From the legends and stories that surround Lough Erne to the creatures, characters and magical worlds beneath the surface, we’re diving deep into the imagination for 2027.

Plenty of time to get working on those floats!!

🎭 Groups, organisations, businesses, schools and community groups - start thinking about how you could bring our theme to life in the parade. Mermaids? Mythical creatures? Lough Erne legends? Lost treasures? Or something completely bonkers? We want to see it! 🧜‍♀️🐙

But it’s not just floats…

We’re back meeting and planning for 2027, and we’d love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in any aspect of the event.

Whether you’ve got ideas, creative skills, event experience, can help with organising, entertainment, community engagement, fundraising, promotion, logistics… or simply fancy getting stuck in and helping make it happen - get in touch.

There’ll be all the usual St Patrick’s Day favourites too…

Legends travelled these waters long before we did.

For centuries, the folklore of Fermanagh has been woven into the landscape, shared beside hearth fires, along riverbanks and by pilgrims journeying through our waterways.

Those travelling the Lough Erne Pilgrim Way to and from St Patrick's Purgatory on Lough Derg would have passed the time with stories of saints, curses, miracles, mysterious horses and ancient legends tied to the lakes and islands around them.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY!

🐕 Discover the legend behind Fermanagh's most mysterious mountains

In Fermanagh, "going to the Dogs" isn't what you think - it's an adventure to two mountains with one of Ireland's greatest legends.

Golden light on ancient stones. Devenish Island's magnificent Round Tower has stood sentinel over Lough Erne for nearly 900 years – a beacon for pilgrims drawn to this sacred place since St Molaise founded the monastery in the 6th century.
