Yesterday waa Open Fours Compitition which was sponsored by Parkgrove Crematorium.
48 players took to the green after bacon rolls tea or coffee served by Alf, Sandy and Carole.
Throughout the morning/afternoon competition was godd and a lot of banter could be hwaed from the green.
As competitions go they are semi finalists who were-
R. Ramsay snr, Chilly, Steve McKinnon and R Ramsay jnr (BaxterPark), who played against Scott Stewart, George Stewart, Aileen Stewart and Robbie Strong.
The other semifinalists were-
Ian Watson, Colin Sayer, Moeag Robinaon, and Colin Forsyth, against Bun Couttie, Alan Arnot, Graham Sherrit and Edd Brown.
Winners of the semis were Baxter Park and Friockheim team of Ian, Morag, Colin S and Colin F.
Overall winners were Baxter Park with the Friockheim team as runners up.
Well done Baxter Park, commiserations to runners up and beaten semi finalists.
Thanks goes to all that helped make the day run smoothly, from greenkeeper to kitchen/bar staff, organiser of the Open, raffle prize contributions, youvall know who you are without you the competitors as well the day would not go ahead

Today Friockheim Ladies played at the Angus Bowling League Ladies Funday at Montrose. It was a special day for us as it is the first time we have won the ladies league trophy (and may I say undefeated). Great company thankyou Montrose for hosting.

Well, unfortunately it was not to be for the Fours, they played very well and it was a tight game. 15 all at the end of 17 ends, an extra required which we lost.
Congratulations to Arbroath, but Friockheim plsued exceptionally well and shpuld be proud of their game

Good luck today for our rink of -
Dave Wyllie, Ian Watson , Doug Skene and Sandy Lyons in the final of the Town Championship at Arbroath Bowling Club this afternoon.
Tomorrow we have two finals at the club commencing at 2pm.
Audrey Kidd v Craig Gunn jnr in the Cuthbert Cup
Daniel Ross v Alf Nicoll in the Catto Cup, come along and support the bowlers.

We welcomed Craigie B.C. for pur annula friendly. The weather stsyed fine and yhete was plenty of banter and laughter on the green. A lovely tea was supplied by Alf and Carole and Bun kept us watered at yhe bar. Thank you to Sandra Reid who sponsered the match and to all those who vontributed to the raffle.
