There is one double bedroom downstairs and a twin attic room (with 2 single kids beds). The cottage was fully updated and upgraded in 2022 and has operated as a successful and well-reviewed family run holiday let since then, achieving a Customers Choice status award. The cottage is situated above Chapel Stile, one of the most attractive villages in the Lake District, amid the incredible beauty of the Langdale Valley. It has a shared communal garden, although this is not fully fenced so children and dogs need to be supervised. Car parking available at the top of a very steep drive. May not be suitable for persons of limited mobility.

This beautiful little spot made up for the lack of visibility on today’s hike up Helm Crag, Gibson Knott and Calf Crag. The descent alongside Far Easedale Gill was the highlight of the day.

Fabulous morning on Helvellyn. Views along Swirral Edge, Red Tarn and Striding Edge with added cloud.
This walk started from the Wythburn Chapel car park near Thirlmere, which is just 30 minutes from the cottage by car.

Dollywaggon Pike is part of the Helvellyn Range and gives great views down into Grisedale. Wainwright gave Hard Tarn a special mention in his write up of this hike - did you spot down in the valley below?

Fabulous views out over Nethermost Cove from the ridge just beyond Nethermost Pike. At 891m it is the 9th highest peak in England.
Look out for Hard Tarn in the valley below.
