Not many people outside Norfolk have heard of Gorleston. Those who have tend to keep it to themselves. 🤫

Just a few minutes from Caldecott Hall, Gorleston-on-Sea is everything you'd want from a British beach — proper golden sand, clear water, a classic bandstand, and none of the crowds you get further along the coast.

In June the beach is at its best. Long evenings, warm(ish) sand, ice cream that actually tastes like proper ice cream.

The Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival is back on the seafront, and it's a brilliant day out if you love classic cars and bikes.

Rows of stunning vehicles, a great atmosphere, and all the fresh sea air you could want. Right on the doorstep for anyone staying at Caldecott Hall.

Did you know there's a horse and donkey sanctuary literally next door to the park? 🐴

Redwings Caldecott is home to almost 100 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules — and entry is completely FREE.

It's one of those places the kids absolutely love, and honestly the adults do too. Wander around at your own pace, meet the residents, grab a cake and a coffee at Oliver's Café, and pick up something from the gift shop (all proceeds go back to the animals).

Open Friday to Monday, 10am–4pm. Just a stroll from the park gates.
